Does anyone else find that fostair 200 inhaler gets less effective when you’re down to last 15 doses? I’ve found I’ve had to use more ventolin at this point , was wondering if anyone else has this

Fostair 200mcg inhaler
Counters on those fostair inhalers should be taken with a pinch of salt in my experience if you feel it’s not puffing out enough just get a replacement. I always have spares just incase
I agree with apink. The counter is not always reliable. Mine sometimes shows more doses left than I know I actually have given how many I have taken.
Thank you for your reply, was thinking it was just me!!
You are not alone! xx
I never had this issue but I use Fostair nexthaler 200/6 with a counter for over 2 years. . If I was having to use my ventolin I would think something was up with my asthma.
Yes I think exactly the same! When I get to 20 doses left I move on to a new one!
It also has a limited life span which I can't remember precisely off hand but something like 2 months and the unopened ones should be stored in the fridge to preserve the life of the ingredients. I got a lecture yesterday at the pharmacy!
Yes, it applies to all pressurised inhalers I think.
I have found this with symbicort 200 as well. Fostair inhaler did not suit me ! The problem is money is becoming a problem. All inhalers are not the same.
My last one started packing up at around 50! I've been attributing it to cold exposure (I was visiting my son in Canada), especially as the ventolin device was also going a bit feeble. I had a spare for that, but not the Fostair as over 50 doses for a ten day trip *should* have surely been enough!
On another Fostair now but the old one still shows 11 left and was occasionally delivering a decent looking puff, just not reliably. Breathing still not fully back to where it was when I left but I'm giving it a second week on the new one before I worry, having checked back to when I started the first one I had and seen that was about how long it took to show improvement.
I was thrilled to have the counter after a few anxious years on Clenil but if we can't rely on the counters, how much use are they?
