There are some nasty viruses about at the moment, mine started with a slight sore throat and took a while to develop further symptoms. I ended up with a chest infection unfortunately. I hope you haven't got the same thing as me.

All I can suggest is to rest as much as possible, keep taking your asthma meds and check your peak flow. Take cold and flu relief if needed, have hot drinks and plenty of water. If necessary go and get your asthma checked by your GP if you are at all concerned.

The asthma UK helpline nurses are brilliant for advice in situations like this. I highly recommend them.

So sorry you've been so poorly.

My achillies heal is my throat - first sign of a sore throat I start gargling with Listerine and taking Vit C. If I don't catch it in time it will travel south to my lungs & I end up with a chest infection.

Gargling has definitely helped me and I keep it up until my throat feels OK. Listerine is a personal choice, some folk use salt water and there are antiseptic sprays on the market.

I hope you find relief from your symptoms.
