asthma and sore throat
Sore throat could be from coughing so much when asthma is bad, but can also be a side effect from meds, steroid inhalers can cause hoarseness and sore throat. Inhalers and montelukast, along with many other meds can cause dry mouth with can result in a sore throat. I myself take a number of meds (not just asthma meds) which cause dry mouth, which for me results in excessive thirst and a (reasonably mild) sore throat.
will see what asthma nurse says about it on tuesday
it's quite common with the use of inhalers, if you use pMDI's (Evohalers) then using a spacer usually helps, but if no luck try sucking a mint or I use to suggest Tesco's antiseptic lozenges but they've stopped them Grrr (every little doesn't help)
i do use a spacer, last i had a sore thraot, i stried everything and nothing worked, is really annoying
hi i would say it could be your inhaler or it could be that you are breathing through your mouth more...try to make sure you are having a glass of water after each inhaler x
is not my inhaler as i am using a spacer
it could still be your inhaler even if you do use a spacer because you are still taking in the medication even though its not going directly to the back of your throat (which shouldnt happen but can if you dont use a spacer). i would still try having water after each one and maybe try upping your vitamin c or sucking on boiled sweets x
