Itchy eyes anyone?

Last few times I've taken my evening dosages I've noticed my eyes are really itchy. Almost painful like I've rubbed garlic in when chopping and forgetting to wash hands after (yes I've done that loads and chillies).

My inhalers are seebri in the morning followed by flutiform with a spacer. Evening is another flutiform and montelukast pill.

I used to be on serevent then sere tide before they moved me across to flutiform. Both the flutiform and montelukast were introduced at the same time and are fairly recent. Not sure if it is either or none of these and not sure if it is entirely unrelated.

This has nothing to do with your question but can I ask why you were taken off Serevent. I had that until... I can't remember exactly, a couple of years ago. I was really well when I had it. Then I was told everyone is being changed onto other inhalers. After an ever changing series of inhalers that did not work for me, I'm currently on Seretide and Spiriva Respimat since September. Why were you changed from Seretide? I don't think it suits me but I started it at the same time as Spiriva so it's hard to tell what I'm not getting on ok with. I've actually stopped taking the Seretide because I think it's making me ill. Anyway sorry this is not at all what you asked or wanted to know. I hope you find some answers soon 🤞

I can't remember which I had first, sere tide or serevent. They put me onto it as a long lasting version of Ventolin as that was being used to much.

Asthma still not controlled at all well so they put me on whichever one of those included steroids. I think it was the green one first then a pink one.

Still asthma not well controlled so moved me to flutiform as it had more steroid component.

They then increased the dosage of flutiform to the max and have now reffered me as it is still not controlling my asthma well enough.

Thanks for your reply. Yes Serevent was the green one and Seretide is purple (or pink?) and has the steroid component. I hope things improve for you soon 🤞

There is also a cost component to what you are given. At the top of the laminated flow chart the AN used was something along the lines of select the cheapest. So what you get may not be the best, just the cheapest that sort of works.

How I miss my private health care I had in the USA that cost me nothing. They fell over themselves to give you any and all treatments as they were getting it all paid. That said, turn up with a paper cut and they would prescribe class a painkillers like they were giving out smarties. Bit much sometimes.

OK. Answered my own question. Uncommon side effect of montelukast it seems and since that is only in the evenings, most probable cause.

I'll mention it when I get the next lot and see what they advise.

Seems some people on here give up whilst others push through the side effects and are fine. Suppose it depends how bad it gets. I'll carry on with it for now.

Hi my eyes get incredibly itchy and sore. I put hot cotton pads on them which helps and have drops from the doc. Hope this helps good luck
