Just wondering what are the chances of catching whooping cough!! I have had the vaccination for it as a child but my house mates boyfriend has just been told he has got whooping cough and I am just a little worried/paranoid as I only came out of hospital on Friday after an astham attack and I am steroids so I know my immune system is lower than usual!!

Even with the vaccination you can still catch whooping cough. Tho it is a lighter strain of it that you take. Usually a person who has whooping cough has antibiotic treatment to prevent this spreading to others. If concerned discuss it with your gp p
