Can anyone help out there.... My son John aged 10 is at present crying on the settee with terrible pains in his legs and knees, he is asking me to hit him on the knees (not that I am going to)... He said he feels that his legs are going to give way and his knees need to crack..... John has just had his slo-phyllin upt to 250mg twice a day, and is on 40mg pred daily, montelukast, seritide, serevent, salbutamol reg, losec and omalizumab oh and amoxicyllin... does anyone know if this is a side effect of any of the above....
would love to hear from you to throw some light on this.....
I took slo phfyllin for a number of years . yes it can have all sorts of side affecfts . your best path is to talk to your doctor as it may be just the mix of all the meds together . Hope this helps
pains in legs and knees...
Thank you so much for that wildbill66, we are at the hospital on Thursday so I will mention it then..... I never thought that it could be a combination of the medication, just put it down to putting the dose up..... Thanks...

Hi Beverley,
I'm so sorry that John is in such pain, how horrible for both of you.
If the pain is so severe that he is crying with it, I would suggest that you see your GP or take him to A&E as soon as possible. Some of the drugs mentioned can cause bone and muscle pain - in particular, prednisolone can cause hip problems, muscle and bone problems, and tendon problems, and montelukast can cause muscle and joint pain. There could be other things causing the pain that are not related to the meds, though, in a child of his age, so a proper assessment by a GP or A&E is really important.
