I've just read that the flu jab is one of the listed medicines that may increase the blood level of theophylline; it says your doctor may need to reduce your theophylline dose in order to avoid side effects. Has anyone on theophylline had the jab yet? Did your dose need to be altered?
i've been on theophylline for years and had the flu jab every year when i've been well enough. my docs have never reduced theo before vaccination and i've never had a problem with my theo levels afterwards.
I've been on theo for 18mths and had my flu jab this week. I've been fine except for a slightly sore arm and I didn't have my dose reduced.
Ditto - I've had the 'flu jab several times whilst on theophylline, and never had any problems. The BNF does note that it 'possibly' increases plasma levels, but I've never heard of a case.
If your theophylline levels tend to run towards the high end of the normal range, it's probably worth just being aware that any symptoms such as severe nausea, headache and palpitations *may* be due to a high theo level - and speak to your doctor if you're really concerned.

I too have had my flu jab and am theophyllin. Haven't had any problems.

Im on Theophylline and my dose was not altered in response to the Flu jab. Side effects from the jab were relatively mild.
