Firstly is depends on the brand as different brands have different strenths and what blood levels are like... assuming by the dose your on Slo-phyllin so yes 60mg is the start dose and in about a week should have levels checked for dose to be checked

yes i am on that brand, but wanted to know how often people take thiers

I think they normally start at the smallest possible dose and wean their way up. Being toxic on theophylline is nasty and so better to be safe than sorry. Best to ask GP to check levels in a week or so and then they can work out the best dose from their. Also, make sure you get levels checked regularly as your requirement can change.

Oh and it's twice a day. Ideally 12 hours apart to maintain the levels as evenly as possible.

thanks wherrers. just what i wanted to know. i did think the does on the packet seemed a bit much
