are my week leg muscles down to my age, 86 years or something else, they have got steadily worse in the last year. I now have to limp about with a walking stick .

Have you been on steroids at all, they are known to cause myopathy which is weakness and usually affects arms and legs.In elderly patients, it’s not uncommon for them to lose 10% of their muscle mass in just 7 days, when not active. So it’s important to do little and often, if you can 🤗

I’ve had a weak right leg on and off for 4 years. They didn’t know what caused it for the first 3. Then I was diagnosed with RA and it has returned in the last 3 months. It is starting to strengthen now that I have been on a biological for 2 months and am on steroids too. I limp with a stick when it is bad - I think it is connected to the pain in my foot and ankle. The rheumy nurse told me it was fibromyalgia- but I disputed this because it’s not widespread pain - it is very acute pain - not got any further than that with her - but the consultant told me he was putting a fibromyalgia diagnosis to the side - until they actually had the RA under control

Worth a call to them? Or a visit to the GP?

Admittedly the GP found the weakness in my leg and sent me for lots of tests which were inconclusive - but it was 3 years later that the physio found the RA….

I had leg pain always medial area of knee. 5 years.

3x told was pmr and more steroids given.

Eventually I told my g.p. Who agreed it wasn’t pmr. Then visits to vascular surgeon no vascular problems.sent to lower limb surgeon . Had MRI ankles no abnormality. Xthis dr would not refer so eventually back to vascular man.He sent me to a rheumatologist MRI knees acute osteoarthritis but considered surgery not needed. Had to ask for report!

My g. P. Looked at MR I results ( I was a radiographer) and said all 3 compartments are involved you need surgery!

My private cover has gone up £1000! Think a lot of doctors are not earning their money!
