Hi, its me again, now nearly 5 weeks post op and doing really well, just a bit more advice needed from you helpful people !I had my physio appt. on the phone which was ok and very encouraging,my question is do any of you hear or feel a clicking noise when climbing the stairs,is that normal ?I can now walk upstairs in'adult' style with a bit of effort but nowhere near able to do it coming down yet, is that normal? Thanks and Happy New Year to all, joining the queue for the vaccine .

If I recall I had a clicking noise for quite a long time - in fact now you mention it I realise it’s no longer there!

Not sure it’s normal - but nothing to worry about...and yes it’s a bit weird!

I’ve never had an op - but I click when I first get up in the morning and again if I’ve been sitting down for over an hour -:I think it comes from my hips. And my neck clicks. I’ve always thought it was a bit of calcification of the joints.

Hi there,I have had 2 knee replacements & yes, this is normal in the early days & can be noticeable even a few months after your op but you soon won't notice it.

Apparently it's the new tissues re-adjusting themselves around the new joint.

Best wishes with the new knee.

I have no regrets getting mine done x

Thanks for your response, its good to hear from others who've had the op especially in these times of covid when one can feel a bit isolated!I'm expecting a call to say my consultant follow up next week is either cancelled or by phone/zoom !
