I have had back pain most of my life and recently had an MRI of my brain and spine. The report says that 'there might be a little early L5/S1 facet arthrosis with some small facet joint effusions.'
Can anyone explain to me what this means? I've tried to look it up but I still don't understand. Any input would be appreciated! thanks!

i agree, tnefeh, you can look up the definitions and be no wiser! One of the several British arthritis charities might be able to help. Versus Arthritis or Arthritis Action.
Hello tnefeh. I don't know but I have pain in the same place and do have arthritis. At some stage described as a bone spur. No one did anything about it except recently I had some physio which helped. The therapist described the back tension as knots. If you find out, I hope you could somehow let me knw to. I sleep with a hot water bottle leant against it - that helps.
If you have had an MRI done, whoever sent you for it should have given you the results in a face to face consultation. We are all very different and we have our unique questions. They should give you the opportunity to ask these questions - although some do send us letters along with a cursory letter. This should not happen. Please request to see whoever referred you for a face to face consultation. Best wishes.
