I don’t know if there can be any really informed opinion or research on this. Here on this forum we don’t know what therapy you are on or your complete medical and family history and so on.

It might well be that you’ve been offered the jab because of the therapy you are on. My daughter has psoriatic arthritis and is prescribed what are called ‘biologics’, a family of therapies which you may be on. She was told to go for the jab because of this, and when she arrived at the jab centre a nurse had to question her about this therapy.

If you are outside the normal range for jabs they will ask you to justify why you are having the jab. So it would be advisable to find out before you make an appointment.

My daughter had her jab and was fine, by the way.

Those aged 2 to 64 with certain health conditions are eligible for the pneumococcal vaccine.

No probs or cons as I had it when I was 69 because of going on a biological medication. I had no side effects and the jab didn't bother me.

Hi. I am 58, I have SLA and Osteoarthritis and I had the jab 3 weeks ago. No side effects and happy to have anything that can help prevent my getting ill.
