Not happy!!!

Hello everyone

I have arthritis in many of my joints… my left wrist being the worst. I have been told for nearly 5 years that I do not have arthritis and that the pain I am suffering with is due to my fibromyalgia!! I wasn’t convinced. I asked for a second opinion (this hasn’t been a quick procedure ) 2 years later I finally saw the consultants reg who requested for me to have u/s scans on my hands feet and shoulder. Well the results were shocking!!! I’m due to see the consultant to get these results on 30th august. I don’t know how to feel about this… I’m angry, confused and upset that I have been left! When you read my report you will see why.

Any advise on how I should deal with the consultant would be great fully received.

Thank you x

I understand what its like being ignored and told not arthritis by healthcare only to discover they were wrong and now the damage is done …. Been here and I’m paying dearly for their ignorance everyday.

Good luck hope you get this issue fixed fast.

Thank you for your reply Batty… I will discuss the results with the consultant next Tuesday and see what he has to say! It’s us that suffer!

Thank you 😊

Try the citizens advice, they might be able to advise you on it all.

I was diagnosed with arthritis in 2006 but wasn't told I had it until 2017..so I have an idea of how you feel.

Good luck to you.

I would assume by your word choice you are not in the US? If available yo you I would change doctors, period. No one will ever advocate for your best care better than you and you can only do that if your doctor won’t listen and team approach your care? I hope that’s an option but no amount of talking to a tone deaf doctor will ever fix the issue of bear malpractice. At least that my opinion. I assume it’s RA hot osteoarthritis? The only defense is that psoriatic arthritis is extremely hard to diagnose with no joint damage evident. Not trying to take sides just my experience. As an fyi I have poly-osteoarthritis and from ‘97-‘14 had 22 orthopedic surgeries culminating in two total knee replacements, two total hip replacements and two ankle arthrodesis (fusions.). Also have stage 4 CKD so I did spend nearly 7 years also seeing a rheumatologist who really wanted mine to be RA and couldn’t do it…lol. Best of luck to you. I hope I didn’t waste your time regards changing docs if not an option. I’d be pissed too!
