Has anyone tried cbd oil for osteoarthritis pain. My gp has taken me off NSAIDs and I’m partly controlling my pain with paracetamol and codeine. My pharmacist suggested I look into cbd oil.
Any info please?

My husband tried it but it didn't help at all.
I asked my GP about it and he said stay clear of it at the moment because I'm on a lot of meds, and they haven't found out yet what meds it may interfere with. It does appear to work for some but you would need the strong expensive version as some of the high street versions are very diluted.
I’m going to start testing it out later this month so I can eventually post about my personal experience. Our bodies are so individual in the way they respond to things. I’ve read about some folks being able to cut back on their NSAIDS.
There are apparently plenty of mediocre products out there so I’ve been doing my homework and narrowing down choices to companies who use independent third-party lab testing to verify strength and purity and have those reports available on their sites. The quality products are expensive.
I found dosing charts online since that has been unclear to me, other than the general advice to start “low and slow.” So now I feel a bit more prepared to test it out.
I’m in the US and recently saw an article where a physician at one of our very prestigious hospitals in Boston says he uses CBD oil for patients with anxiety and insomnia and it has been effective. As far as osteoarthritis I’ve only got anecdotes from friends or friends of friends. Some say CBD has helped. Others say no help. They all use products from different companies so I think it’s hard to draw any conclusions.
Long story short — I’ll be my own test subject and see how it goes.
I have tried the 80% version. It was expensive and if the truth was known did absolutely nothing to help me. My daughter works in a pharmacy and her boss will not have it in the shop. Basically he said it is over priced and not proven. I wish I could be of more help but there seems to be a huge amount of differing opinions on how affective it is. I paid 75 pounds for my 80% and I got nothing from it at all.
Trying it out bought one after much research from a company that works with a university researching it. I was given very helpful information by the company before I decided to buy it.
The cost is reasonable and seems to reduce the inflammatory aspect of RA.
It also is said to help with anxiety and mental lowness something I deal with with RA.
Problem is early days, and research is needed to pin down how it works and what its interaction with other meds.
I spoke with my RA nurse who suggested buying from a well known high street health shop. However when I researched, the dosage was minimal, and little information on what was best dose , and how much of the component needed to work was in the oil.
So as said I did very thorough research on the subject before settling on my type of CBD oil.
Hi, I use a cbd thermal rub when my joints get really sore, I find it works really well for me.
