Hi everyone, I am from Nigeria and suffering from osteoarthritis for the past 8 years but the underlying issue has been troubling me since my adolescent years (started around 2003,was 16 then). I am introverted and due to peer pressure and the desire to be likeable, I started lifting my upper jaw such that the upper jaw hangs without touching or resting on the lower jaw. This made my face elongated. It was a stupid decision but I was from a disfunctional family that hardly cared about my emotional well being. I did the above act for close to 3years, through discomfort and pains. Around 2006, I realised that people xpression showed discomfort when looking at me and they tried to always look away, so I started closing my jaws properly but I discovered discomfort around both sides and that was how I started visiting a dentist who couldn't say what was wrong with my bite. Now, both my jawline are not symmetric and my facial appearance and expression have both been distorted and affected by this unusual behavior that has affected my social and personal life so badly that trying to that it corrected has led me to make more poor decisions. Please I need medical advice from anyone
