I just wondered if anyone knows how long it takes to get a PIP assessment. I know they received my completed form last Friday?

DWP should let you know they have received your application , but these things can take quite some time to process, you may even have to ask for reveiw of discission once you get it. Hope it does not take too long and maybe some one else can give you ideas about time factor. Good Luck

thank you for your reply. I will just have to be patient which is quite hard for me. I just want it all over and done with. It's so horrible when you have DLA indefinitely and have to go through the process again x

A lot of people have had to go through this process, but many on indefinate DLA have been swapped without too much problem however others have not, so fingers crossed you will be swapped with ease. I receive DLA because I was retired when PIP came in narrow escape I call it :) x

hi Katie I have just received notice on sms that they have my form. Just waiting now for the assessment. Luckily a nice lady from a disabled charity completed the form for me at my home, so will just have to wait and see. So nice of you to reply x

hi serve I am the most impatient person you could meet!!! I am sure the DWP do it on purpose. I have had quite a few dealings with them lately over something else and had to get my MP involved but the problem is still ongoing. With that, not being fit and in constant pain waiting for an assessment isn't easy is it? Will try and forget it for the time being.

They got my form sent someone out within a week, took 3 months for a final decision, my mum said the longer you don’t hear from them the better, she tried to apply for mental health and was turned down within a week. Also I don’t do the physical part under no terms does it say you have to do it, if it leaves you in pain or stress as well.

hi jess thank you for your reply. I keep expecting a letter every day. It's the last thing I think about at night and the first thing I think about when I get up!! I am not very patient so I have to keep on telling myself not to think about it, but so nice to hear from you 😊

I hope it all goes ok I changed from indefinite Dla to pip and ended up with standard rate so I hope yours goes ok as I am now thinking of going to tribunal more stress we don’t need. Good luck

thanks Nikki. Still waiting for a date for my assessment, just dreading it. I am on DLA indefinite as well. I would appeal against their decision if I was in your shoes. I definitely won't give up if I think their decision is wrong. Apparently there is a 12 week wait for assessments!! Good luck 😊
