PIP - awarded

Hi everyone

Surprisingly I just got awarded PIP for three years backdated November

Standard rate in both daily living and mobility. This will really really help me - not least in terms of being able to get a bus pass/blue badge.

It felt they didn’t really accept my wider issues caused by RA and Arrythmia but focused on the simple limitation caused by my bad knee. Ah well, at least I’ve got it.

I’ve been put on the waiting list for a knee replacement- a wait of around 9 months though there will be a review appointment before this; the consultant said I should hold off the op for as long as is possible if I can; and focus on weight loss which am doing, At least I have the PIP now which is a health.

wishing anyone else the best of luck on their pip journey.

well that’s good news, well done! Was the PIP awarded after the first attempt at applying?

Fingers crossed for you with the knee replacement, 9 months is not too long to wait.

HiThanks for that...

I'd applied three years ago but was turned down...I really made an effort for this one though of course am a lot worse now.

I'd watched a view benefits and work videos which were really useful.

It really will make a difference to me this PIP.
