I took my second dose of meds yesterday all seem ok so far except I feel a little spaced out. This could be just me though I get like that sometimes. Its hard to tell what is normal and what is not. Any tips guys. xxx

I am assuming you are on the tablet form and not the injections.

Is that correct?

I started on the tablet form but after a couple of months had to stop them as they made me sick.

If you read this forum regularly you will have gathered that not all meds Suit everybody,What is good for one is not good for another ,it is very much trial and error.

If you are on tablet form and you are only on your second dies it is probably too early to say his this us going to be the right one for you.

Give it a few more days, but if you experience any symptoms or reaction that you are not comfortable with, then contact your surgery or out of hours surgery straight away.

As it happens Imdidnt get on with the methotrexate injections either, they caused me a lot more problems but that was just me.

Take care, hope things work out for you with your meds, and you find the right meds for you.

I've been on methotrexate some five years for Rheumatoid arthritis. I've never had any definite side effects and they have got rid of all my RA symptoms. I probably sometimes feel a bit more tired and lacking concentration on the day that I take the pills.

You do need to get the regular blood tests. Some people do have bad reactions and these need to be picked up quickly. It is also normal for high dose folic acid to be prescribed along with the methotrexate to minimise side effects. Report any breathlessness to your doctor.

So long as you don't get serious side effects, give them a good try. It may well take three months before you notice a real improvement - but the RA may then steadily improve.

Thanks GordonEdin

I am back to normal today so maybe it was just extra tiredness as you say. Dont know if Im imagining it but my feet and fingers dont seem so bad today.
