Methotrexate

I’ve Been taking methotrexate injections for several years now. Until now I never noticed the tiredness and sleepiness I get the day after. Only one day I read about it and realised that is exactly what happens to me. I feel fine in the morning but later in the day I start feeling sleepy and absolutely shattered and awful. I just feel like sitting not talking not moving. Does anybody else feel like this with methotrexate?

My Husband takes it for psoriatic arthritis and knows he won't get a good nights sleep on the day he takes it so is tired the next day.

It used to affect me like that in the early days but now I am fine leading a better life so carry on hopefully you will feel better soon x

I get the same feeling, most days I have to sit down in the afternoons especially after my Methotrexate Injection, another issue is nausea after the Mtx injection for about 2 days.

I have PsA and Ostio, and about 18 months ago was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes which is quite common in people with PsA, I found this out on a site like this, a Dr has never explained the link. I have been on Mtx for about 4 years now and a Biologic Drug Coesntyx which is injected monthly, but doesn't seem to be helping, Rheumatologist looking at changing it. Tiredness and fatigue are almost as bad as the pain associated with PsA.

Yes, but usually on the day after I take it - or even 2 days later.

I take MTX, as well, and notice at the end of my workday - but the time I get home I feel exhausted. but I'm ok the following day.

METHOTREXATE!! ‘One man’s meat another man’s poison‘! I found it such an evil medication and could not ever get used to it. I used it for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis.

I took it on a Thursday and by Friday l began to feel very unwell. By Saturday I seriously thought that I was going to die in so much pain physically and mentally. By Sunday afternoon I began to feel a little better. All l wanted to do was die or just sleep.

I have since met so many people who have been on this medication for years and swear by it. We are all so very different.
