Arthritis in thumb joint

I have suffered from arthritis since my teens. Have two knee replacements which were done at an early age and have now been advised that I need my thumb joint fusing in my right hand. Can anyone advise me on the recovery time and possible outcomes of this surgery?

Hi Dawn and welcome to the online community. If you want to find general advice about arthritis, or to find out about our services and local events, do visit out website: arthritisaction.org.uk/

We hope all goes well with your surgery and do have a look at our Members benefits - perhaps a self-management approach might be a useful resource for ongoing pain.

All the best,
