I forgot to mentioned I am also on the contraceptive implant and this is due to be Changed, it contains the hormone Progestron and I had a new one fitted a year after having my daughter, I was just wondering what contraceptive people are on after PP and now who have bipolar. Thank you in advance xxx

I think a progesterone implant is better for you than a high estrogen implant the reason being that ppp happens when progesterone drops dramatically after giving birth
my sister had ppp then bipolar oestrogen made her high / manic bc estrogen is excititory whereas progesterone is inhibitory and calming it moderates estrogen
Why change if you have been doing well on the progesterone implant
I'm on the Merina coil, not really for contraception but to reduce very heavy periods. My children were IVF. I've found it brilliant, mood is very good, PMT is regulated and next to no bleeding.
It was bit uncomfortable to fit but nothing major.
