I had a pre-conception planning meeting and the perinatal psychiatrist was very supportive. I’m now under his care as I’m expecting baby #2. He said getting PP is highly likely, and if it happens it will be severe. But with medication, should reduce the risk, and if it happens, it’ll be identified sooner and I’ll get the treatment I need quicker. So even if PP happens, it shouldn’t be as bad as last time. Overall I’m happy with the care I’m getting.

I had an appointment with one and found it very helpful. She said the only reason she would recommend against pregnancy is if someone had repeated psychotic episodes that could not be controlled by medication. Best of luck!
