Is it possible?
Hi and welcome to the forum.
To be diagnosed with pp it needs to be within the first year postpartum so it wouldn't be a pp diagnosis of you have a psychotic episode two and a half years after birth.
I hope that you are ok and getting the support you need.
Ellie
I havent had an episode but I'm afraid of having one. I see a therapist once a week. I have an anxiety disorder and panic disorder.
Hi
I'm sorry you have an anxiety and panic disorder which must be very hard for you. I hope your therapist is helpful.
I wonder if you are in the UK whether the Mind website with sections on anxiety and panic disorders might be helpful at mind.org.uk?
Take care.
Hi I'm really sorry to hear you're suffering so badly with anxiety and panic disorder. I had a lot of anxiety as I was recovering from PP, it was awful and so debilitating. That's good to hear that you have a therapist you meet once a week, I hope that it's helpful and I hope that you have good professional support.
Take care, Ellie
Yes, I believe it is possible to suffer the symptoms of PPP after more than the 6-8 weeks which is often mentioned. The technical Post Partum bit is anatomically correct in that it involves the physical parting between the Mum and the Baby. However I think the Psychosis can linger as a sociological manifestation of the relationship between Mum Baby and World.
