I am on Sertaline 200mg, been on Sertaline for 20 years. Calm and placid but lifeless, no passion or enthusiasm to do anything. Another member suggested considering Piroxatine. A fiend with a similar condition to mine takes Amitriptaline with little or no side effects and carries on a normal life, he is a serving Police Officer, and works shifts. He says Amitriptaline helps him sleep, something I have not managed to achieve at nights since February- Regards Kenneth UK

Thank you. My GP gave me Paroxetine today and we agreed on a starting dose of 40mg as I was on 200mg Sertaline. Wish me luck and thank you for you for help

Thanks very much x

Hi, I took Paroxetine until 7 weeks ago and it was great for me, the only reason I came off was due to unstoppable weight gain and complete loss of libido. Not everybody gets these side effects though.

Paroxetine also kicks in a bit quicker than other SSRI's if I remember correctly.
