I wish there was a cure all answer I can give you, but there isn't. I had a break down in 2009 and I tried all sorts to 'fix' myself, medication, courses, hypnotherapy, etc. etc. The fact is I didn't understand what was happening to me. I think you can help yourself a lot by reading books about depression and how depression works. I am a lot more knowledgable now and it gives you a sense of getting back some control over this awful condition. Secondly I have found recently that meditation is very good for balancing your moods, but unfortunately you have to have quite a bit of commitment to getting to grips with the technique. The most important thing I have found is that I had to accept that I am a sufferer of depression and anxiety and that I had to stop asking myself 'why did this happen to me', the best thing to do is to accept the fact that you have it and try to deal with it as best you can. It isn't easy, but one thing I can say is that I have learned a lot, I am getting better, and I have started to enjoy life again. I hope you will find your way...good luck.

For me walking and Companion Pet ownership (a dog) got me moving again and continues to keep me functioning.
