Iast march..i had a tad too much caffeine one day and was in the gym. My heart stuck at 166bpm. Went to A and e and it was chemically reduced and advised heart is ok.. but i now have eptopic beats..especially layinh in bed at night. I generally dont feel them stood up unless and suddenly physically exert myself and then my heart thumps for a few mins. When I do cardio..my heart feels fine..obviously because its a stronger beat during cardio. But does anyone still hit the weights? Im 52 and dont lift heavy anymore...just do high rep endurance training. I cant seem to get a straight answer as to whether weights are safe or even pressups etc..??

EXERCISE WITH EPTOPIC BEATS??
To clarify..Ive never felt my heart thump during cardio or weights before this happened. So it begs the question, how can my heart be fine if i can now feel it?
What you are experiencing is very common with health anxiety. You are hyper-focused on your body sensations and suddenly notice a sensation or in your case become aware of your heart beating and think it's something new but in reality it's not and your anxious thinking gets stuck on it and blows it out of proportion, and then you start to obsess about it. I know, i've been there. Here is a link to a video by Paige Pradko a therapist who had health anxiety and OCD and healed herself and now helps others deal with it and how to heal it. She has a lot of good info on her channel and website and also has courses available:
