Hello, thanks for stopping by to read this. I struggle with anxiety daily. My anxiety increases at night. I am truly hoping I can find a way to engage here so I can mitigate my evening stress.

Hi GoldenMel, I would like to Welcome you to a safe and caring forum.Do you know what increases your anxiety at night? It's usually more prevalent

in the morning because of higher levels of the Cortisol and Adrenaline.

Hi and welcome to your forum. For my anxiety, I have tried meditation, yoga, listening to soothing sounds of nature and going for a walk before bedtime, to relax.

The only thing that worked for me was to take a tablet to ensure I got enough unbroken sleep to give me energy for the next day. My doctors prescription drug is Mirtazapine because of its sedating effect. It may or may not work for you as you have a different biology to me.

There a lots of self help books and info online about anxiety and its treatments.

Trial and error with a good dose of determination to find what works best for you will eventually get the anxiety animal under control.

Welcome GoldenMel to HU. This is such a great place to share and know you are not alone. There are others who struggle with anxiety and understand. I am sorry you are struggling daily. I have been there. Are you seeing a counselor? Are you on medication? I have found the combination is what helped me. Anxiety is a chemical imbalance, but it also how we think and deal with situations. I do a lot of journaling and write down what I think causes my anxiety. Them I pray over what I write. I also started a let it go journal and that has truly helped. I take it out of my brain and put it on paper. Then I pray over it. This brings me relief and peace. Another things I do to help myself is intentional deep breathing. I take 5 deep breaths in and think about things that help me relax, then for the count of 5 I hold both my breath and those encouraging thoughts, lastly I slowly release my breath at the same time visualizing the anxious thoughts leaving me with my breath.
