anxiety and covid

Hi I'm new to the anxiety community. I have experienced a little of it in my past but I was recently tested positive for covid. I am now recovering but have had a couple bad weeks with it. Ended up with pneumonia in my lungs which scared me to death. Breathing was bad at times and anxiety played a huge roll in not helping matters. Now as I'm recovering I still feel short winded and scared. Like I cant catch my breath and I know alot of it is anxiety and also I have gotten bad gerd from this experience. With all this the breathing just scares me. I guess thats what anxiety does to you in not 100% sure but I feel like thats what is going on. I just wanted to share and wanted to thank you for listening. I dont like feeling this way

Are you seeing your doctor on a regular basis? It would be a good thing to do. The shortness of breath may be from a combination of recovering from covid and the anxiety. Both should continue to gradually improve, and it is lucky that you are over the worst of it.

Glad you have the doctor appointment and welcome to this site. You will find a lot of people who also have anxiety and are very kind and supportive as well.

Have you gotten your vaccine prior to catching Covid ? If you did you should be ok. I’m sure you were put on a Z pack. I had Covid last year it lasted 3 weeks somewhat mild symptoms.
