Sertraline

Hi , I started taking sertraline this year , was still getting anxiety on ovulation so increased to 100mg. I'm also going through a house move, break up , and uncertain job prospects. Last week I didnt sleep for 3 nights so had to get sleeping pills. I have constant loud white noise in my ears , its horrendous and is so loud I cant sleep. Ever since I upped the dose to 100mg, it's been about 4 weeks. Do you think I need to reduce? I do as I am an 8 hr a night sleeper usually. I feel totally strung out, shivers inside and my jaw cracks, I'm very tense.

Sorry to hear about your Life Issues.

The Tinnitus is a Side Effect of the Sertraline I believe. I was on Sertraline for around 6 Weeks but stopped due to the Side Effects it gave me, one of those being Tinnitus.

What Sleeping Pills are you on...Zopiclone?? Sertraline causes hideous Insomnia too.

Thanks Steven, yes that's the sleeping tablet I'm on. Crazy though to have to take it because the sertraline is keeping me awake. I've spoken to the doc and I am reducing back to 50mg and being referred to the mental health team. I feel like my mind is speeded up and I cannot find calm. Are you on any better medication ? I have tried a few and am really sensitive to alot of them. I was on citalopram for a number of years but it stopped working for me. x

I am on no Medication now and have been diagnosed with FND...I have so many weird Symptoms and spells of Anxiety too.

I am trying to find a Neuropsychiatrist here in West Kent where I live. (Tunbridge Wells). However, they all seem to be in London.

Where are you in the UK?

..and good Luck with the Sertraline reduction.

I went through several Types of Antidepressants including Citalopram and none of them suited me in the End.
