I also feel short of breath. I've noticed that if you make sure when you exhale you're letting all oxygen out. Sometimes I think we try getting more oxygen in and forgetting to exhale all the air out and we start gulping air. I also do box breathing for a minute or so. That is breathe in for the count of 4 hold for 4 exhale for 4 and hold for 4. Then repeat. I feel that I can get enough oxygen when I do this when I feel calmer I can get that deep breathe in. Hope it works.
