So if I drink alcohol it causes all day anxiety , panic attacks .!! If I don’t drink alcohol it cause all day anxiety , panic attacks !!

It does not matter what I do it’s with me 24/7 . I’m sick of this damn thing . I have tried so many different things , but when it wants to give me hell it does .

Dizzy , lightheaded , palps, aching body , weak legs , nausea, aches and pains , going insane , want to rip my hair out ,,want to bite my hand so hard, pinch the insides of my arms , hit my face , swear , yell and scream , cry ,brain fog , withdrawn , depressed , detachment, avoid going out , feels like heart is in a dryer when in a panic attack , then body just trembles as if I’m freezing , racing heart .....

When will this stop 🛑. Only one way I know of ☠️

You are self medicating with alcohol.

Have you seen an md?

No I’m not ! I have always enjoyed a drink , that’s 2 glasses of wine at night with tea . I work 4-5 nights out of the week , so I don’t drink then .

What I’m saying it doesn’t matter if I drink or not this fkn anxiety is the same and it’s killing me

I've been here....trading medication in the morning with drinking during the night. A hangover produces anxiety. As Dolphin says, it's mere self-medication. Alcohol works like a benzo by depressing the CNS. You feel relaxed, but temporarily so. Stressing out about your next drink during the day will cause anxiety. I absolutely understand where you're at having been there. Ultimately, it's doing yourself no favors.

I truly recommend reaching out to your doctor or a psychiatrist even to find a game plan for your health going forward. You shouldn't have to live feeling this way and they can empathize and work with you. Drinking doesn't have to be a temporary solution that induces anxiety all day long....I truly know that struggle. Please do see someone because it can stop without it coming to the only way you see right now as the way out. If you ever feel it is heading that way, please absolutely reach out to the hotline because there are far better solutions. Take care for now and please let us know how you're doing.

I read above and I get it...apologies, that doesn't sound like an alcohol type issue. Now that I dont drink, I'm fairly anxious. I really thought it would be my cure....don't drink and life would be at least better. Not 100% the case. Are you working with anyone doctor wise or using any medication? I'm fairly anxious daily and medication hasn't seemed to help much or at all. But I am not gonna give up. Have you tried alternative type therapies like acupuncture or mindfulness? While it doesnt completely melt the anxiety away, both blew me away when they helped my situation. It can be so difficult to handle and very easy to accept defeat when we're constantly anxious. Both have shown me a kinder and gentler road that some weeks they are better than whatever my psychiatrist, GP, or otherwise might offer solution wise. I know it's hard to picture being anxiety free or have it feel less disturbing, but it is something I think you have to believe in...your mind must change perspectives. Or as I've been chanting to myself lately...be comfortable feeling uncomfortable. Just some thoughts and I truly hope you can find something that works for you. That helps even give you temporary relief. Drinking used to do that for me and I can understand how a glass or two of wine would do it. I can only say keep trying to find what works for you. Something will. Treatment for everyone varies. I hate to hear of someone suffering because so many of us do off and on or constantly. Try something new even if you seem skeptical. Acupuncture was that for me yet I left feeling like I was walking on water. The feeling didn't last all night but it was the best hour I have most weeks. I truly hope you can find some sort of solution to ease your nerves. I can sympathize...it's a rough place to be. Please take care for now.

Thanx , no I’m not seeing therapist or anyone , been there done that . I take Kalma (xanax ) when needed , but it doesn’t seem to do much anymore . It’s just a big merry go round. I have had anxiety for a bloody long time and I’m wearing down with it .

I felt similar but more fearful than anything. I’ve finally accepted I need meds. I’m on buspar and Ativan only when I really need to get me by till buspar kicks in. I’m feeling myself already. Good luck.

Yes I have a tablet when needed, it’s like xanax . I have tried many tablets over the years and I had lots of problems with them .

It’s not the alcohol. Start accepting your symptoms. They are all one big magic trick. They are a huge bluff. Look up Claire weekes. Read “hope and help for your nerves” and check out “that anxiety guy” on you tube. You “feel” un safe but you are fine.
