I am on 50mg of sertraline for panic disorder/anxiety and depression. For the first 2 weeks it made my anxiety worse but after 2 weeks it helped greatly, most physical symptoms are gone

ohh really, that's great, I'm terrible taking tablets I have propanolol which I only take if I feel a panic ready to start but I've heard good reviews and bad but I'm wondering whether I should just start taking them if I know they will help in the long run, that's good that it's helped your symptoms, thanks for your reply

If the anxiety / depression is getting so bad that it interferes with daily life (like it is for me) I would recommend trying it. Because I started to feel there was nowhere to go but up.

Take care

Hi. I am currently on 25mgs of Sertaline and 40mgs propanol. For anxiety which has caused depression and overthinking. My doctor prescribed me 50mgs but after an awful reaction to another tablet I was so worried so we decided to half the tablet. I tried for 5wks to not take the tablets but in the end I needed to get better so took the plunge.

The high anxiety was the worse for me that lasted 3 days (only 1 particular terrible day). I then had a different side effect everyday after. I’m now on day 18 still have a bad stomach every now and again and headaches and fuzzy eyes at the mo, but am feeling much better other than that. My anxiety is a lot better and I’m getting stronger everyday. I still feel a little low but hoping that will life improve. My doctor is happy for me to stay at 25mgs at the time being.

It will definitely get better stick with it, count the days and you will see light at the end of a tunnel.

Good luck

Hello I took this last year for abou six months. I was also scared of taking it and had to work my way up to it. Once I started taking it regularly, my anxiety greatly improved. I quit taking it because I thought I was doing better but here lately my anxiety is getting worse again. I may have to go back on it.

I'm on 50 mg Sertraline right now and it's done wonders (alongside exposure therapy) to my Agoraphobia, Social Anxiety, and General Anxiety. The only downside for me is that it really messes with my appetite and eating habits.
