Starting Venlafaxine Tomorrow

I have been prescribed this jointly by my neurologist and psychiatrist. It's hoped it will help with my GAD, PTSD, MDD and chronic migraines.

If any of you guys have any positive stories to share, please give me shout. I'm only looking for POSITIVE, as I need to stay in the right frame of mind. (I already know about the short half life, withdrawal stories etc.).

Many thanks!☺ xxxx

Oops - forgot to add that I'm starting at 37.5mg with an eventual target dose of 150mg. xxxx

It's been years since I was on it, but I had the same diagnoses and I believe about the same 150 mg ending dose for at least part of the time and I know the drug worked just fine for me for a number of years. I was also on clorazepate 4mg/day for the GAD. I hope all goes as well for you.

Oh my gosh! In reverse to your question, although 2 yrs ago can you give me any information regarding venoflaxine?

I'm 3 weeks into venoflaxine and I'm being gradually increasing dosages, 150 mg at min!

I get that things will take time and after 10 yrs on mitazipine it's weird? Any tips ? X

I’ve been on mirtazapine 30mg for about 5 years. I understand what you mean! It’s difficult with taking medications for such a long time.

Sure! My psychiatrist said most people don’t experience side affects in their experience. For me though, I was having severe headaches, loss of appetite, nausea, and restlessness. But, I’m pretty susceptible to side effects. I’m a better candidate for lower doses.

It was recommended for me as an additional antidepressant as well as to function as a daily anxiety medication. I asked a question about it earlier on my feed or whatever and others on here told me their experience! It was beneficial to hear different people’s thoughts on it.

You're doing fine karl, I only wish I could answer your question about that medication.

You might want to repost the question. I think you will receive a lot of responses since

others are on the same meds. I'm glad you are here with us :) xx
