Took Half of 0.5 mg of Xanax & prescribed Luxapro

So today my doctor prescribed me 10 mg of Luxapro to take in the morning. I am to take just 1 a day for the first 10 days then take 2 a day after that. I was also prescribed 0.5 mg of Xanax to take at night, and my doctor suggested that if it scares me, I can take half of that (half a pill), which I just did 10 minutes ago. I have never taken meds before for anxiety and depression. Only once I took Zoloft I was prescribed as a teenage and all it did was turn ,me into a zombie so I hated it and only took it once. I know it will take awhile for the Luxapro to work, but I hope I am that small percentage of people who get help from it quickly or get a placebo effect. And I hope the Xanax has no weird side effects on me, though I took such a baby dose tonight. I'll see. Anyone else have experience with these? Did they help at all? And how long did it take? Thank you.

I have taken Xanax and Zoloft. Zoloft didn’t help much. I was started on Xanax during Chemo therapy. It helped a lot. The only problem is that it has a very short half life. I am on Klonopin now. It works as well as Xanax and has a much longer half life. Good luck and God bless.
