Anyone tried hypnotherapy to overcome agoraphobia?

Hypnotherapy
kensteel12, Hypnotherapy was one of the methods that I enjoyed the most. The feeling of comfort and calm was amazing. This was just before I became agoraphobic. I was using it for severe anxiety as well as the fear just starting regarding leaving the safety of my home.
You can't be apprehensive, you need to open yourself up to the suggestions of the therapist knowing that you are safe and at any time can get up and leave. I was left with the suggestion that anytime I hear the numbers 10 through 1 slowly being counted down, I go into a complete relaxation mode. It could be on an elevator, watching the last 10 seconds of the Microwave, hearing it on tv or the radio etc. My shoulders immediately drop away from my ears and I feel this calm and peace come over me.
Because of the cost, I wasn't able to continue for too long but was given a self-hypnosis tape by the therapist to listen to daily. Between that and working on myself, I finally broke through the 5 years that agoraphobia kept me home bound. I would definitely give it a try. It's a great tool to use in going forward. Good Luck
I made a appointment for Wednesday next week. Therapist will b coming to the home first to help me be able to leave the house.
By jolly I hope it works.
