Does anybody else feel really happy when the sun comes out? For me it just makes me feel like everything's going to be ok and I get all this positive energy from seeing the sun. I'll be leaving for Arizona soon thank God cause winter where I live is horrible and so grey.

The Sun
Absolutely!! My mood is totally affected by the weather. It can be freezing cold out, but if the sun is shining I’m in a good mood. If it’s grey and miserable, that’s how I feel too... miserable. ☹️ I hate winter because the lack of sun and the dark nights and mornings really sap my energy. I go into hibernation from November to March! I currently literally only leave the house to go to work, and even that’s a struggle most days. I just have zero motivation to do anything in winter, all I want to do is sleep. I think I definitely have Seasonal Affective Disorder to some degree. I struggle with depression all year round but it’s definitely a lot worse in the winter months. Have you seen a doctor about your depression? Are you on medication? It might be worth speaking to them about increasing your meds at this time of year, that’s what I do. I also take vitamin D which helps, with the lack of daylight to provide it naturally. I’ve also got a ‘SAD light’, which I find really helps me to get motivated on a morning and improves my mood. It might be worth investing in one yourself. I’d definitely recommend light therapy as complimentary treatment alongside medication. X
