I've been seeing ads for the Fisher Wallace Stimulator for treating anxiety and depression. It's $700 but they claim insurance will cover some. Anyone try this ? Does it work ?

Anyone try the Fisher Wallace stimulator ? Does it work?
Hi Meeasy, It is not a scam but something new the psychiatrists are using in their office visits as well as purchasing it on your own. My doctor has been using the Transdermal Electrical Neurostimulattion Therapies for the last year or so. This device uses pads on the ear lobes for 15-20 minutes. The Fischer Wallace stimulator (which I just read about now) seems to use the same process but on the sides of the head. I have not tried it myself but have talked with the doctor on patient reviews.
It is given to patients both on medication as well as those afraid to take anything. Everyone being different allows for some to feel benefits after a few times while others may take longer. It boils down to about 60% of the patients getting relief.
The best thing before investing in a costly product is to find a doctor who uses this technique. Ask him questions and results of turning to a non invasive method. Try a few sessions in his office and see how you feel after that. I wish you good luck. Let us know how you make out should you decide to give it a try. Take care..
