I keep reading on the internet that the world is on the brink of a nuclear war. I have trouble sleeping because I can`t stop worrying about it. How do other people cope with this kind of threat?

It's not the threat of nuclear war that's bothering you, it's the anxiety that's fastened itself on the convenient worry about the war. If you didn't have the war to worry about your anxiety would find something else to be anxious about. Your thoughts would go around and around about something else. You need to get control over your excessive anxiety. You knew that when you posted this in the Anxiety Community, right?
How often would you say that you think about something to worry you? Do you talk about it much? Does it take over your thoughts much? How much tells you whether you need to see a doctor or not.
It's not somthing I would worry about if it does happen it won't for a while so don't worry about it there are other things that are acually worth worrying about. You know this is your anxiety. There's nothing about nuclear war threat in any of the newspapers I've seen, but I presume you've been feeding your anxiety about this by Mr Google.

Avoid political websites regardless of your personal leanings. Those places are fear porn.
Im the same constantly worrying been trying to find out what we can do if an attack does occur . but part of me does wonder if what ive read is true. Then i feel more stressed thinking im really needing help with my thoughts. I always feel like im suffocating. And feeling confused with my self and the world . ur not alone hun i totaly get how your feeling x i have to keep busy to stop me thinking. Id try different activites exercise worked at time wen i would be busy but then as soon as i sit down my head quickly returns to thinking mode again. Hope things get better for u
