Does anyone else find that when you are starting your antidepressants you get more emotional? I have only been on mine for a day and I have been so grumpy all day and also drowsy. And now I have just had a break down and thinking of all the sad stuff has anyone else had that? Is it a side effect?

In my experience, I have found that antidepressants can make you more emotional when starting or stopping them. Generally, these side effects occur within the first two weeks or so and eventually go away. It's your body's way of dealing with your changing brain chemicals and your stress. Depending on the medication it usually takes a few weeks to build up in your system and to notice it's impact. But be aware that in a small percentage of people antidepressants can lead to increased depression and suicidal thoughts. If this occurs seek help.
Remember, I am speaking only from MY experience. Everyone reacts differently to medications/dosages so it might be different for you.
Things that tend to help are staying hyrdated, exercise and breathing/meditaion techniques.
It's funny I find the opposite. I've been on Cymbalta now for about 5 weeks. Emotionally I feel balanced. More so then I did let's say 3 or 4 months ago. The fatigue for the first two three weeks was massive, and the nausea also. I have no choice but to wait for the 6 week mark considering I've try so many different meds and I'm running out of options.
