Hi dun-b73. I'm glad this site is helpful to you. It's been very helpful to me as well. I've been on the following medications:
Zoloft - HATED IT. It made me feel like I was in outer space and not in a good way. And it was horrible getting off of it. It felt like electric shocks were shooting through my brain. I quit this medication cold turkey so that's probably why. I was told that I should have gradually weened myself off of it.
Lexapro - It was ok. I believe it did help, but I quit taking it. It had bad sexual side effects (TMI, but you asked about side effects)
Paxil - I think out of all of the medications, this one worked the best. Again, I quit taking it because I would like to treat my anxiety naturally and not with drugs.
Vibryd - This is the most current drug that I've been prescribed. I don't think this worked for me at all. I still had major anxiety while using it.
Now Im using acupuncture and Chinese herbs as a way of treating my anxiety. I just started. I still have anxiety, but my symptoms aren't nearly as intense. My hope is that they will eventually go away entirely.
