Lexapro

I was just given Lexapro today and will be taking it tonight, I was wanting to know how it worked for you, did you experience side effects and did you feel a change in the first week? Btw I was given it for anxiety. Thanks in advance.

When I first started Lexapro, I didn't take it as prescribed, because I was scared of possible side effects. I took only a little less than half. No side effects, so I worked my way up to the 10 mg. One night I woke up with blurry vision, I thought it was the Lexapro, but my psychiatric said it wasn't, and it was some of my other meds. Lexapro is ok.

nmp1, I agree with valachia-t regarding Lexapro. I have been on it for 5 years, starting at 10mg and cautiously increased to 15mg (by doc's rec.) I've stayed on that dose and feel no ill side effects. Just keep an open mind when starting new meds, don't read about them and ask your doctor questions if symptoms arise. I wish you well on it.
