my anxiety has always come in waves.. Comes and gets really bad. Then slowly lessens and almost disappears for a while..
Only to return again. This time is the worst ever and I'm finally, after 7 years going to begin medication (SSRIs). There is no amount of yoga, meditation, positive thinking, etc, that can manage this dreadful disease for me. I'm just looking for hope. Can anyone say that they have ever gotten rid of, or, significantly improved their anxiety with any kind of treatment, medication included? I have heard so many reports of medications not working or making things worse.. Just wondering if there are any success stories out there. I need a break from this, as I'm sure you all do! Thanks for reading,
Amy

Every time I read your posts it's like reading about myself! I replied to other post earlier about anxiety coming in waves. When I had severe anxiety & panic attacks years ago I was on Sertraline & had cbt which really helped me to the point I was anxiety & panic attack free for over 4 years but they have came back again 😩 so there is light at the end of the tunnel that it will go away with the right help but unfortunately I just can't see that at the moment. What medication have you been prescribed? X
Amy...I have had bouts anxiety on and off for more than 20 years. I was on Zoloft and Xanax on and off for years and at times felt great...needed a Xanax at times before big events and other circumstances where I had to be on the top of my game. Went off Zoloft last year for quite awhile since I felt good. Dr. put me back on last year but I had severe headaches for a few months and had to stop taking it. I am going through a rough patch of anxiety and panic attacks now and Dr. wants me to start Lexipro (so afraid of side effects) so I have been taking Xanax at least 3 times per day. My point with all of this is that anxiety never goes away completely, but you do have periods where it it is more in the background. Stay positive and see how the medication works for you. Good luck.
