med question

i been on co codomol for over 16 yrs, backs real bad now. doc gave me tramadol. can i takit at same time or do i use em instead of co codomol, like 3 lots of first then one lot of tramadol?

Hi again evony, unfortunately we are unable to give you an answer to your question regarding tramadol. It would be best if you called your doctor on that. I'm sure your doctor has a remedy in mind for your back pain. Feel better soon with your medication.

Hi as as Angora said, would check with your GP. But would imagine they wher given, as stronger, to try them on there own. Wouldn't mix until you check it out. Hope you feel ease soon.

for a definitive answer you should speak to either GP or pharmacist - there may also be some information on the leaflet that comes with the medication indicating that you should not take it in conjunction with other medications.

I think it is unlikely that you could take both at the same time as cocodamol contains codeine which is an opioid and tramadol is morphine based so also an opioid.

Looking at the patient information leaflet used in the UK it mentions not taking paracetamol with cocodamol (risk of overdosing on paracetamol) but doesn't mention other opioids - but best to check with pharmacist who issued meds or with GP

Co-codamol can be taken along with tramadol but exactly how much you will need to ask your GP about. 16 years is a long time to have been taking such opiate based pain killers and it is little wonder that you now feel no benefit from them.

thanks and your right, i watch clock to see when i can take next lot, sometimes take 5 lots instead of 4 im sad to say. all it gave me was bowel problems but trying to find a doc that listens wassa struggle, finnally got one thank god. cheers for reply, hope your day goes well, jim xx
