hello I was on sertraline great for 20 years , then had a thyroid op was very ill and given Mitazipine to help sleep all fine , they stopped sertraline . I have been a bit down and sleep but mixed so went to dr who upped Mitazipine 3 times , threw in venoflaxine and quetiapine and I was so very ill !! This over a week ! A week later stabilising on my original 15 Mitazipine , sleep been helped by zopiclone , but does anyone take sertraline and Mitazipine? It’s got to be okayed by physch Dr , just hoping to properly taper Mitazipine and go back gradually to my sertraline..

I did sleep ok on Mitazipine for 3 years but after the last 2 weeks been overwhelmed with drs doubling and tripling dose, trying to stabilise now , my last dr telephone call said oh no you will never sleep with that again . Petrified I need zopiclone now but will never increase Mitazipine again , Just thought gradually introducing sertraline may help .. a

Thank you

I was taking mirtazapine as an ad for a while but it just made me too sleepy to wake up in time for work. I did have sleep issues so the doctor kept me on the low dose and added sertraline as the ad instead.

I find the combo works really well for me and has done for years now. I am in the UK.

There is no support or help now I'm afraid. From doctors or mental health. We just have to get on with it to sink or swim and no one cares either way.

Mental health is the 2nd biggest reason for drs visits (bad backs are the 1st) yet just 13% of NHS funds is given to it.

If you can pay you are ok, if not then we just have to suffer alone. Sorry for being so cynical but this is my experience also. I can't see it changing anytime soon either.

You aren't alone.
