Hi Snowden climber 1, while I have not had any personal experience with cancer for myself my husband had 3b lung cancer. I am happy that you have recovered all I can say is take things one step at a time just do little things. Watching what someone goes through with cancer is hard but even harder for the person experiencing it or coming out the other side. Just take time for you find something you enjoy doing when your not working. Day to day tasks well they just aren't as important as most of us think they are. You are a survivor and that is a big deal so please celebrate that. Wishing you well

Hi SnowdenClimber. Welcome to a caring amd supportive community .

As you're in the UK- I was wondering if you'd thought about contacting the Macmillan charity ? They offer support post treatment and they also have an online forum where you can share experiences and concerns with others .

I suspect the last thing someone who has survived cancer wants to watch is a terminal case.

I know I wouldn't.

That's a good point and I was too precipitous in my response. I will apologize. But it is not what you think. The video is the OPPOSITE of what you expect. It is very reassuring and greatly encouraging. The assumption you are making, although understandable, is false. But you would not know that without watching the video and that--that the video is very optimistic when you would expect it to be very pessimistic--is what makes this video so special and Wilfred Bion such a brilliant and insightful thinker. He exudes 100% humanity.

Hi hypercat54: Please read my first post before this one. Indeed I did apologize to that member for dumping such a disturbing term without proper forethought. But, as I explained below, the video is not AT ALL what you might think. It is, in fact, uplifting.

Think about this: We as human beings, all of us, are terminal, arent' we? In this sense we are exactly in the same boat as the above cancer patient, the only difference is a matter of time. I mean, look at me, I'm 71. Do you think I have the same years ahead as I did when I was in my 20's or even my 50's? I am reaching my terminal point. All of us are moving towards our terminal points. I think it is of critical importance for all of here who are suffering from anxiety and depressive disorders, and even more than that, and I certainly include myself, that we DO HAVE SUCCESS IN GETTING RELIEF from our suffering, such that we can find joy in the time that remains.

what are you even talking about man? when you say something is ‘in fact uplifting’ for everyone you most certainly aren’t talking about me. what’s up with having to be right all the time and walking back apologies. turn the ‘never back down’ feature OFF on your chatGPT. wether it’s a positive or negative spin on death I don’t think anyone cares if you think it’s a must watch. For everyone. at all.

The facts are not on your side. You have not watched the video. Opinions with zero evidence are a problem. I understand WHY you are making this assumption, but your assumption is false. If you were to watch Bion's talk, I would like you to report back why it was NOT uplifting. I don't think you can do it. That being said, I probably lacked forethought in how I presented to the OP, so I have apologized for that. I don't know why you are talking about AI (ChatGPT). It is 100% irrelevant to this case.

I thought I suggested you turn the never back down feature off. must be right must have last word. I don’t have to watch and report back to you, nothing is uplifting Linux. by the way ‘I apologize… but’ is not being sorry.

I think we are talking past each other. I think it's best that we shake hands and move on.

I think it’s something entirely different, fist bump or handshake is fine.

Thank you, lifethatnevergoes out, I'll take the fist bump! On your behalf, I give you my word that I'll try and do better next time.

you’ve landed right in the middle of disabusing people with your opinions.

My apologies if I misread your post and dumped this horrific sounding phrase "terminal cancer" on you without thinking! But the video is absolutely not what you think. It is not at all pessimistic but very encouraging and uplifting.
