Mornings

I wake up every morning nauseous and shaking on the verge of a panic attack. Mornings are awful. Does anyone have any suggestions? Mediation makes it worse because I cannot manage my thoughts right now. I tried doing yoga but I am just so anxious..... My new thing is I turn on the tv and try to zone out on some show. Going for a walk helps some but I have to be playing a podcast so as not to think about my issue. Would so appreciate any ideas.

I feel your pain. I wake up everyday full of dread and can hardly get out of bed. I've been like this for months

I know what you mean. I have taken yo listening to pod casts by Anxiety Coaches on you tube. They give some advice. I also listen to stuff on Calm. Play games on my phone. Sadoku. If i knew how to knit i could do that.

Hi, have you seen a Dr recently? You say you wake up nauseous and shaking and that really concerns me as it seems more than anxiety. Have you had your blood sugar tested? When you eat something does it seem to calm you a bit?

Thanks Cpearl. Yes they did all the blood test. As I'm sure you know eating is not on the top of my list. I've lost 20lbs since this started so I think it's how I process the unknown with a constant pit/dread in my stomach. I wish I had a better coping mechanism.

Hi Sloat, I understand I really do just be careful! Even if you blood tests are good not eating can affect you thoughts too. I have lost almost 70lbs in this last year and I have been a mental wreck. So I know it gets to you. Just please eat when you can and take care of yourself even when you have no desire to do so.

I get morning anxiety and get the nervous feeling. I've started doing morning affirmations, even if I don't believe them. I tell myself certain phrases "I am ok, I will get through this, I am brave , I am strong, and I do a little bit of gratitude and give thanks for the blessings in life, ie, breathing, comfy bed, safe, roof over head, etc etc.

Thank you. I do have blessings and continue to work to change my focus to them.

I find it's a process, and not an easy one. I wish I was "normal" again.

Also, I've just seen this posted by another member, I've saved this also, this may help us.x

Also I want to add another thing I've started doing is journaling, I've heard about it alot. But the thought of writing my feelings down and someone finding them used to petrify me, I put it off for ages until I started acupuncture and she mentioned journaling and called it energy clearing, writing down negative thoughts that come up, what the underlying emotion could be and then burning the notes!! I tried this and what a relief it was.

Maybe it's worth a try?
