Hi guys. So I started buspirone again but this time I decided to stick with it instead of coming off of it(i have a hard time w meds cuz of my anxiety) and I've been on it for a total of 8 days now. I definitely notice a difference. I started really low, 5 MG a day because of my sensitivity to side effects nd my anxiety etc. The first couple days I felt really weird, but then I actually started to feel a bit better, to the point I could get out of bed, and play videogames. (Which was great, took my mind off of some stuff for a while.)
Today I increased the dosage to 10 MG a day, and I was SO drowsy for a few hours. Then for most of the day I was happy and everything was good, but randomly I started feeling really irritable and upset. I did some research and apparently it's normal to have mood swings and whatnot after increasing or starting an anxiety medication.
Anyone else experience stuff like this?

I've never taken that medication but I have definitely had mood swings when dosages have been changed. I also am sensitive to meds so they usually start me at the lowest dose and increase slowly BUT last month they tried me on a new med, Caplyta, at the highest dose. I took 1 pill and was so drunk all day that I had to stay in bed. I was staggering, slurring my words, seeing double. Then the next day I was so hung over that I fell down and hit my face on the table. I didn't take any more of that medication. I guess it's just trial and error because we all have different body chemistry.
Years ago I was on Buspar(when it was fairly new) and had no problem with it; don't remember what dose I was on but it worked great. A few months ago went back on it. I was started at 7.5 mg bid then upped to 15 bid. Felt weird on the higher dose so went back to the lower dose. It helps but still need occasional Ativan along with it. Haven't had mood swings with it.
