hello! I’ve been on sertraline 25mg for a year now they have helped and have a huge difference in my anxiety however is still get anxiety and still sometimes get intense ones but are slightly more manageable then before, my doctor has suggested upping my dose to 50mg but the extreme heightened anxiety that I had on just 25mg was seriously unbearable to point where I thought i was going to literally pass out, this is all ok just 25mg can you imagine a 50mg? My question is is anyone also on 25mg and have been suggested to go up or have gone up? If so how was your journey through that and was it as bad as on 25mg? Should I go up? Many thanks ☺️

A higher dose won't necessarily increase your anxiety as it doesn't work like that. It might actually help.

Having said that 25 mgs is the lowest dose and I started off on 100 mgs. It didn't help at all but when it was upped to 150 mgs that was just right for me.

So my advice is try it and see.

Oh and its worth remembering sertraline isn't a strong powerful drug but just a bog standard SSR.

I have had several dose increases. The last two weeks ago to 250mg of setraline. I still feel bad..

I’m so sorry to hear that! I know exactly how u feel! I’m still on only 25mg and it has only just recently started to work slightly! Keep going because it took me the best part of a whole year to be where I am now but anxiety is still there! But it’s about finding the right amount of mg before you feel better just hang on in there!
