duloxetine and mirtazepine

Hi,

Can anyone advise about the combination of duloxetine and mirtazepine? My mammy has suffered depression for a long time and has been given this combination. Duloxetine for mood and mirtazepine to aid sleep. Is it possible to suffer augmentation on this combination as my mammys depression has a at an all time low but she is also experiencing confusion, loss of concentration and a surge in anxiety. We are worried about the possibility of dementia and are currently waiting on a GP appointment but I’m wondering is it worth asking about this combination of tablets and the possibility it could be doing more harm than good and also causing the side effects stated above?

Hi maybe phone doc and talk about it and your concerns See wot they say

If your mum needs meds for sleepiing and your happy for meds

Id discuss this as well

Ive been on both and had both stopped

Now on another 2

And again they are both antidepressant although 1 is used mainly for sleep by docs now

Deffenetly challenge and ask specially about the

Mirtazapine.

Thank you for this. We have an over the phone appointment this morning. I was just trying to go in there armed with as much info as possible to challenge them as typical Gp just fire any prescription without actually giving what’s best for the circumstances. Thank you.
