I have always suffered with Anxiety since I was 18 years old off and on. I am now 74 and I am struggling with health anxiety for a number of years off and on. I started counselling again three weeks ago I cannot stop worrying about mainly lumps and stuff on my scalp. I am in fact having a Seborric keratosis removed on Monday as it’s causing issues I am really nervous cannot get it out of my head that other bumps are also coming on scalp. I have even started using the stress and anxiety patches to see if this helps. I am already on antidepressants been on them years.

Dear Tinker 2015,
Try to remember that these skin issues are not anything dangerous, as far as I understand it. It’s good that the doctors seem to know what is going on and are on top of the problem and that you are being treated - that is the main thing. Try and remember that they are treatable and will go.
Hello Tinker - I'm sorry you are suffering. I agree with Nad1971 that you have a medical provider looking at the situation and providing treatment. Try to put your trust in them and let go of the anxiety. I know it is incredibly hard as I struggle with health anxiety as well. Every ache, pain, or flare of a chronic condition is a trigger. I remind myself not to catastrophize, which is natural for me. I also think about the worst case scenario and talk myself through it which helps me realize how ridiculous and unlikely it is. Distraction is another tool I use. Talking with someone I trust is helpful as well.I hope your procedure goes well and you find some relief from your anxiety.
